- Laughing Gas
Laughing gas will significantly reduce your fears and discomfort. It’s best for mild to moderate anxiety, and will produce a euphoric effect.You will wear a breathing mask during your procedure. As soon as the mask is removed, the effects of the laughing gas will subside.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Dental patients with a fear of the dentist can take an oral medication to reduce their anxiety. Your Summerlin dentist will prescribe a sedative that will relax you just before your procedure. Oral conscious sedation is easy and effective, and will allow you to receive the care you need without all of the worry.- IV Sedation
IV sedation is administered through a small needle inserted in the hand or arm. If you need something more than oral conscious sedation to fully relax in the dental chair, your dentist may recommend IV sedation. We use a topical anesthetic to numb the area where the needle will be inserted, and then the IV sedation will take effect, allowing you to relax and even fall asleep.
